Maker Camp 2023

June 20 - 22, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Give your middle school students a chance to learn practical life skills in a fun day-camp environment!

This program is designed for youth ages 10-13. They will have the opportunity to explore hand crafting skills and experiences in a small group setting, letting them build relationships with their peers, their mentors and our Almighty Maker.

Each day will feature two workshops along with fun activities, a devotional and lunch!

Babysitting – Teaching skills to care for toddlers

Bicycle Repair/ Map Reading – BYO Bike, Follow a map to buried treasure

Cooking – (Morning) Preparing lunches / (Afternoon) Preparing desserts and snacks

CPR Certification – Instruction on CPR and AED

Graphic Arts – Travel to Mr. Trophy to design and screen print a personal flag

Home Maintenance- Basic wiring, plumbing and home repairs

Masonry – Learn to lay a brick wall

Sewing – Hand and machine sewing skills

Creative Arts – Explore your creative self

Wood working – Using hand tools to build a wood project

*So that every camper has a chance to participate in each workshop, we ask that campers only select one session of each workshop. We will do our best to keep our website updated in a timely manner as workshops fill to capacity. We will contact parents via email or text if changes need to be made due to a workshop reaching capacity.

Lunches and snacks are provided for campers. The food is prepared be the Cooking workshops.  Sugar-free and gluten-free options will also be available for campers with dietary restrictions.

Cell phones will be collected at registration and stored in a tote unless used for medical purposes. They will be available for use in an emergency and returned at the end of the day.

Drop off/Pick up Times:

We ask that campers arrive no earlier than 8:45 a.m. and are picked up by 4:30 p.m. Full day participation is mandatory. If you have additional questions, please contact Vicky Caldwell by calling or texting 724-843-6449.

Registration Form and Permission Slip may be completed online by scanning the QR code below or going to the church website. Deadline is June 5th, 2023. Registrants will receive a confirmation text or email.

Registration Fee: Due to increasing costs of food and materials, we are asking for a $10 registration fee per child. This fee will cover all 3 days and is payable on the first day.

Permission and Release of Liability

I understand that personal injury can and may occur to my child, and I hereby authorize Maker’s Day Camp adult volunteers to seek and consent to emergency medical attention for my child as needed; and I further agree to be liable for and to pay all costs incurred in connection with such medical attention.
I hereby release Concord United Methodist Church, its employees, agents and volunteers, from any and all liability, claims, demands, causes of action and possible causes of action whatsoever arising out of or related to any loss, dam- age or injury (including death) that may be sustained by my child while participating in or traveling to and from this event.
I agree to provide information on food  restrictions, allergy and medication information necessary for my child to receive appropriate medical care.
I give permission for my child to ride in any vehicle designated by Maker’s Day Camp, its employees and adult volunteers, while participating in and traveling to and from this event, if I decide to have my child driven to/from Maker’s Day Camp, as arranged by me prior to the event.
I agree to accept full responsibility, financially or otherwise,
for any damage my child may do to the property of Concord United Methodist Church, properties visited on outing, other’s personal property, or vehicles used for transportation
